Eids

Hello !! Good morning everyone . How are you ???

I am writing this post about “Eids” and I would thanks all my followers and those who asked my about the meaning of “Eids” .

Here in arabin countries and those who are Muslims we have two Eids : Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha

and I got this definition from Wikipedia about these two Eids: Eid al-Fitr and it is also called Feast of Breaking the Fast  is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, where people fast for (29 or 30 ) days then as a reward for them they have this Eid. Then they went to pray and after that  they distributed money as charity for kids and women . In the first day we slaughter an ox or a goat . And you can see all the people from the youngest to the biggest are wearing new clothes singing happily  ..

here in this picture the people are praying..

here is a picture for girls wearing new clothes

Eid al-Adha ,I got this definition from Wikipedia, also called Feast of the Sacrifice, the Major Festival,[1] theGreater EidKurban Bayram

is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honour the willingness of the prophet ʾIbrāhīm (Abraham) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismā’īl (Ishmael)a as an act of submission to God’s command and his son’s acceptance to being sacrificed, before God intervened to provide Abraham with a Lamb to sacrifice instead.  In the lunar Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for four days.

and we have some tips to slaughter the ox ,the goat or the sheep and we have to take care of them . Not to hurt their feeling and I mean by that we don’t show them the knife nor we slaughter them in front of the other animals ..

I really enjoy my time in Eids because in these days we met all the family and we celebrate happily…

That is for today … I hope now you know what Eids is .

All the best ….

  1. I am aware of Ramadan but I did not know at the end of the fasting that there is a celebration. I like the idea of respecting the animals before slaughtering. These animals give their lives to sustain us. They should be respected and honored for doing so. I’ve read (or was told by someone) that if an animal is frightened when slaughtered it affects the quality of the meat.

Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are wonderful celebrations. The little girls are beautiful and so is their clothing.
Are prayers done outdoors during the feast? What about the women, do they pray outdoors as well? Do they pray separately from the men?

Thank you for explaining Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

    Love, light, and blessings

    • I am happy that you have gotten new information about Eids. and here are my answers to your questions
1- Are prayers done outdoors during the feast? Not necessarily, most of them on the other towns pray in Mosques but it is okay to pray outdoors if you want.
2- What about the women, do they pray outdoors as well? No they don’t even in the picture which I put it in the post there is no women .. The women pray separately from men.
3- Do they pray separately from the men? yes they do … in the Eid prayer the women come together to pray separate from men … I n the usual days we pray 5 prayers every day and women pray at home while men pray at mosques ….
You are welcome … at any time dear V.A
